Our family set out on an airboat in the early morning to experience the "river of grass" in the Everglades. As we were cruising over the grass, I turned to my left to take in the expansive view. To my surprise, a grackle appeared, flying just a few feet away along side our boat, and kept pace with us. It did so for just a few more seconds, but enough time for me to snap a photo of the playful bird.
