My husband and I wanted the chance to photograph Fort Jefferson at night, so we made plans well in advance to reserve a campsite for an overnight stay. After all the day visitors left and the night skies got dark enough, I set up my camera on a tripod and during a long shutter speed, I walked back and forth shining a light on the side of the fort.
