In the fall of 2023, my family took a cross-country trip from New Jersey to California and back. From Chicago to Santa Monica, California we followed historic Rt. 66. During our visit to the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona we came across an old roadbed and weathered telephone poles marking the original Rt. 66. We were also surprised by a rusted Model T Ford in the desert along the Rt.66 route.
