Badlands National Park is known for its dramatic eroded formations. But the park also contains the largest expanse of mixed grass prairie ecosystems in the U.S. Ideal habitat for Black-tailed Prairie Dogs, one of which is pictured here. I don't know what species of plant surrounds this little guy, but it's very pretty.
