Kennicott or sometimes known as Kennecott Mine, in this remote eastern area of Alaska, is historic for its copper mining in the early 1900's.
I was impressed with this sign which was made from metal parts and wheels from the mining operation.
There are many buildings including the mill which are of historic significance, some of these buildings you can go into but not all of them.
It's not easy to get to this National Park but I am glad we went and learned more of the mining history.
