We thought going to the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Fall of 2022 would be our second trip to a National Park, mistakenly believing it was part of the Great Smokey Mountains NP, LOL! We learned on that trip that while the Parkway is administered by the National Park Service, it is it's own recreational entity designated as a "National Scenic Parkway". It was even a better example of the idea that "every view is a postcard" and the panoramic camera function on my cell phone got a real workout! We were also surprised to find as many things to do while visiting the Parkway as we have visiting other National Parks.
