Unable to fall asleep in my tent due to the 6 degree temperatures, I decided if I was going to be cold all night I might as well be cold while trying to get some nice photos. The wind was brutal at the viewpoint and I was starting to regret my decision, but after a steady snowfall from the afternoon till early morning, the sky quickly cleared up and allowed for a spectacular view of the stars and, before long, the sunrise too. It was all worth it in the end, watching the warm glow of the early morning sun gradually illuminate the now snow-covered ampitheater.
