The wind was howling and the temperature was down below 20F but I've come to expect that at Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park. I had gone up to shoot the night skies and was worried that the cloud cover would wreck my plans. As I set up to shoot a favorite lone tree, I noticed the clouds were in an interesting pattern that lined up with the Winter Triangle (made up of Sirius, Procyon, and Betelgeuse stars).
