While taking photos of the different birds in their winter homes in the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, I had the opportunity to watch this stunning Snowy Egret preen its snowy-white feathers. This was the first trip I had been on that I had both my new Nikon D500 camera and Sigma 150-600mm lens, so I was so excited to have captured such a beautiful photo with my new camera gear. The Snowy Egret is so fascinating to watch especially when they fish because of their incredible patience to wait for the perfect fish to swim right by. This is one of my favorite photos from my family's trip to Florida and I am so grateful to have this photo as a memory of a very special bird.
