One of the many birds I wanted to see while on my family's trip out west was a Burrowing Owl in Badlands National Park. We had seen a lot of Prairie Dogs, but no Burrowing Owls until there, crouched down in the grass, was a Burrowing Owl. I was getting ready to snap some photos of the owl when it took off, which led to some of my family's favorite wildlife photos from the trip. This photo shows how these birds are such agile flyers and how they are such a beautiful part of the Badlands ecosystem.
