While hiking the Jenny Lake Trail with my family on our trip to Grand Teton National Park, we stopped at Inspiration Point to take in the incredible view. While we were at Inspiration Point, another wildlife photographer, who saw my 600mm lens on my camera, shared that there was a family of Yellow-bellied Marmots in a nearby pile of rocks just off the point. While making sure to maintain a safe distance from the animals, I got down low to the marmot's eye level and waited for them to come out of their home. I didn't have long to wait before four marmot babies came out and started wrestling, exploring, eating, and just acting like baby animals. This little baby marmot in particular was very curious about something and kept on peeking its head up above the rock. This was such a special experience that I am very glad to have captured.
