While on my family's trip to Grand Teton National Park, we hiked the Jenny Lake Trail, which was spectacular. On one section of the trail, I heard a bird song that I did not recognize. I pulled out my Merlin Bird ID app on my phone and discovered that the singing bird was a Black-headed Grosbeak. I then got my Nikon D500 camera out and there in one of the bushes up the trail was this male grosbeak singing in between bites of the white flowers on the bush. I finally figured out that this male was serenading a female grosbeak who was in a bush across the trail. This was such a cool experience to see this pair and I am so glad that I could capture the male grosbeak in this photo and remember this memory for years to come!
