My family and I have been lucky to experience Fall in the Maroon Bells Scenic Area the last two years in a row. We love hiking in the early morning and the late afternoon to experience the peaceful views (and occasionally some wildlife!). Our most recent visit to the Bells at the end of September 2024 provided dramatic skies in the late afternoon/early evening, and as we were wrapping up a hike on Sept 28th, we were treated to this incredible sunset scene. I quickly set up my camera and tripod and started snapping photos, capturing the evolving sky, while my family stood beside me. This image turned out to be my favorite from this memorable night.
