Camping at the free sites on the BLM land at Hurricane Cliffs is unlike most camp experiences. Full 360 degree views around of beautiful mesas, mountains, and even the famous Zion National Park. There are many campsites down the single-track, dirt road and we found a spot that had great views of the Gooseberry Mesa. Evening is the best time of day for that specific mesa, as it faces west and catches the incredible glow of the setting sun. A recent snow squall dusted the mesa, the snow mostly melted by the end of the day but added a nice touch. Our neighbor in the site next to us with the white camper and truck really stuck out against the red scene. Truly an amazing place to camp, for free! Thanks BLM.
