I did the usual stop at Sheep eaters cliff, a wonderful spot to spend a few minutes or hours to sit and relax or do a bit of hiking. The cliffs were full of the usual suspects, A Uinta ground squirrel and marmot were in the rocks with a chipmunk between the rocks and the picnic area.
There was a bit of movement to the left and I heard the familiar chirpy bark of the Pika. The grizzly is my favorite animal in the park but that is followed closely by this wonderful little guy.
I have passed many hours standing at a scree listening for that signal and then scanning the area it came from. If I'm lucky the reward will be seeing these little marvels.
It may be a lone sentry looking down in seeming disapproval of my intrusion or in the case an industrious fellow with greens for his winter stash
