The Owyhee Canyonlands are located in the SE corner of Oregon and the SW corner of Idaho. The Owyhee Canyon Overlook provides a bird's eye view of the rugged canyon carved out by the Owyhee River below. To reach the overlook one drives west from Jordan Valley, Oregon for approximately 15 miles on paved route 95 and then turn left (south) onto a rough gravel road for another 18 miles. Efforts are currently underway to designate the Owyhee Canyonlands as a National Monument to protect the cultural, natural, and historical significance of this remote, rugged, and beautiful area.
