Medano Pass enters the back of the Great Sand Dunes NP. It's a historic, primitive 4WD road that has been used by indigenous people for a long time. It begins in Saguache county on Hwy. 69 south of Westcliff. This photo is taken from the road after it enters the park boundaries. Fall is a great time to visit because the creek is low and the colors, magnificent.
