Hiking on root glacier demonstrated the sheer mass and power of a glacier. I've been to different parks (like Yosemite) that have explained how massive valleys and canyons were carved by glaciers, but standing on one and seeing how small our friends appear in this picture really puts in perspective how massive and powerful they can be.
