Admiring the Big Stump in Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. This awesome stump has seen much through its thousands of years of life. Years ago, not so long for this huge stump, humans tried to saw chunks off, but petrified log is as hard as stone and broke off some of the saws, which are still imbedded in the stump. The Florissant Valley is a very interesting and scenic area of Central Colorado and I would love to go back one day.
