In September my husband and I took a trip to Grand Mesa National forest and hiked the Mesa Lakes trail, when this Short-Tailed Weasel ran across the trail. I snapped as any photos as I could but he was so fast it was hard to get very many good ones. He went under this tree for a few minutes and we waited until finally he popped out again and I was able to get this picture.
