It had been at least two years since I had photographed mountain goats, so one morning in early July I hiked the Aspen Grove trail to climb up to Emerald Lake. I got up early to get to the meadows by sunrise and had a good idea that the goats would be in the area as it is prime habitat for the goats.
I began hiking at 2:30 in the morning and successfully got to the meadows by sunrise and found a small herd of goats. While ensuring to keep my distance I happily photographed the herd. There were several kids with the herd and I was able to capture this shot as the kid walked with the herd.
