Story:
After a 2-hour drive, I arrived at Mt. Lemmon's 9,171 ft summit just as Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsunchinshan-Atlas) emerged in the night sky. Despite traffic delays, I swiftly set up my Canon EOS 5D Mark III and Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 USM amidst the majestic pine trees. The thin, crisp air at this elevation allowed for breathtaking views.
The US National Forest Service's preservation efforts have nurtured these towering trees, framing my shot perfectly. With seconds to spare, I captured this single exposure, freezing the comet's ethereal beauty.
