Fort McHenry despite its significance in the War of 1812 is today a bucolic site in the midst of the industrial port of Baltimore. The contrast between the two is well demonstrated in this interesting and complex view from the fort walls behind the enlisted men's barracks. The walls, topped with brick pathways and lush grassy berms, abut the industrialized port buildings and infrastructure in the distance.
