The visitor center is fronted by a lovely bi-panel plaque explaining the site's significance - this is surrounded by a beautiful old fashioned garden composed of California native plants maintained by the Friends of Alhambra Creek, one of whose members, Mary Wolkenhaven, was most helpful in delineating the garden's origin and importance.
