A rare, macro view of a drop of nectar that remained on the beak of this baby hummingbird who was just fed by its mom. This hungry chick continued to stretch its beak upwards from the nest, hoping for more food. Somewhere around 10 days old, baby hummingbirds begin to grow pin-like feathers that resemble porcupine spines.
