Looking across the grassland valley to the Hornbek Homestead, I couldn't help admiring this scene. It was such a beautiful prairie edging up to the mountain hills and a historic homestead in the distance added the final touch. A stunning scene in the mountain west that goes vastly unnoticed, as with the whole area that is the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. I love visiting unknown parks and this area was really out there and very impressive.
