My mom and I were driving through Grand Teton National Park at around 4:30 a.m. when she spotted these three bull elk grazing in the field. I rushed to set up my photography beanbag on the window, I took quite a few photos of them grazing but nothing that I really loved. However, for just a few seconds, all three bulls glanced up curiously and I was able to get one of my favorite photos from the trip and in my time doing photography. I slowed the shutter speed significantly so that I could keep my ISO low, their slightly illuminated racks with the foggy backdrop offered an incredible composition for this photo. The moment that they all lifted their heads to look at me is something that I will cherish forever and a story I will tell for years to come.
