The best part of camping in October? The sky gets dark enough for great astrophotography well before my bedtime. A rushed scouting trip let this wonderful vantage point to fall into our laps as the sun was setting. We patiently waited for the stars to reveal themselves. A nighttime visit to Arches is a whole different experience than the busy daytime bustle. The quiet desert surrounds you, allowing you to experience scenes right out of Abbey's classing "Desert Solitaire."
