A fall of 2022 visit to Congaree National Park led us to discover a hidden gem! Congaree is widely viewed as a mosquito-infested swamp of a national park. Visitors who think this are not taking advantage of this beautiful bottomland forest. The scenery in morning and evening light paddling along the silent, shaded Cedar Creek is indescribably beautiful. While photography in a canoe takes on a whole new challenge, the rewards were worth it. This park, so accessible to the Columbia area, should be so high on everyone's bucket list! Take a paddle on the river, a hike on the boardwalks, or just enjoy the giant trees.
