A mother Alaskan Brown Bear stands to about 8' tall, as it checks on the approach of a male bear in order to protect her newborn twin cubs. Male bears are known to kill cubs in order to mate with the mother. This momma was on alert and her watchful eyes did, in fact, protect her babies.
