Near Jamestown, glass furnaces were re-discovered and excavated in 1948. Today, you can watch glassblowing being performed at Jamestown. It has been one of my favorite things to do so far at NPS sites. It was a truly unique experience. You can even buy the products they make in their shop and across the nation at other NPS sites. Fun fact: the green glass items are true to the time period.
