The 2023 southwest monsoons were late. In mid July, in most places the ground was still parched, patiently waiting for moisture. The landscape could be read like a book. The dry washes with cracked mud created captivating visual paths like the one shown in this photograph. I had to wait several hours for the right light to caress the ground with the right mixture of shades and light.
