Our Thanksgiving family road trip brought us to Death Valley National Park. The day was cool and windy. Sand appeared to be stirring in the distant mountains. We had just returned from exploring the salty flats when I beheld this beautiful view - visitors from all over the world strolling along the walkway, experiencing a landscape like no other, 282 feet below sea level.

The water you see in the distance is a rare occurrence - a fleeting lake in the salt flats of Badwater Basin.
