The San Juan River is one of the tributaries of the Colorado River prior to it's entering the Grand Canyon. At one point near the Arizona/Utah border it forms a number of sharp, meandering bends know as ":Goosenecks." That they are quite spectacular, and scenic is an understatement. Many visitors to Navaho National Monument drive past this area without knowing that these goosenecks even exist.
