Rare desert kit fox (Vulpes macropod) play with anything in their environment-- each other, plants, a discarded tin can, and even a camera lens to check out their reflections. Normally 'kit' describes a baby, but the Western United States has a rare subspecies so small the species is called 'Kit Fox.' This smallest fox in the US can run 25 mph! Like the arctic fox, their paws have fur on the bottom. To capture this portfolio, the photographer changed his flight and camped out for three days in the desert when he came across these fox. No bait was used.
