Exploring the Sand Creek Site was a bit sombering, but at the same time uplifting. Reading the information about this history along the trail while looking up and seeing this beautiful patch of prairie today really puts things into perspective. History like the Sand Creek Massacre should always be remembered, there's something about seeing the beauty of the land that allows some form of healing to such atrocities. It's quite a special place in it's own unique way.
