This view is the edge of the Blue Mesa, a part of the painted desert in the Petrified Forest National Park. This area has amazingly vivid banded landscapes and is such a photogenic area. The Blue Mesa trail is nearby but I took this shot off the parking lot along the edge of the Blue Mesa. If you look closely, there are petrified logs down on the floor of the badlands, and in the far distance a train heading west on the BNSF railway which cuts through the park.
