After visiting Zion Valley in Zion National Park, the main drag along the Virgin River, we were a bit taken aback by amount of people. It was a warm stretch over the holiday weekend in February, we expected a lot of people, but we couldn't even find a parking spot! So we headed to a much quieter part of the national park, Kolob Canyon. What an amazing, almost secret, treasure! We hiked the Taylor Creek trail to Double Arch Alcove and back. To my delight, we had the trail all to ourselves! The trail is only five miles round trip but it took us hours because we took so many photos and would stare, jaw-dropped, at the canyon around us. The freshly fallen snow had made a beautiful addition to the red canyon and green trees. One of my favorite hikes to date for sure.
