A small dirt road now runs through what once was rows upon rows of barracks in which Japanese Americans were forced to stay in for three years. A total of 120,000 Japanese Americans stayed here, most of whom were American by birth. After the war the U.S. Government wanted to get back part of cost of constructing these camps by tearing the buildings down and using the lumber for other purposes. Now all that is left is empty dirt roads, a few buildings, and foundations buried in the brush.
