The American bison, also known as the buffalo, is an iconic symbol of the American West. This lone spot bison wandering along the valley may appear slow and lumbering, but they are actually quite fast and agile when they need to be. They can run at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour, and they are excellent swimmers.
