The Canyon Creek Shelter was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1939 shortly after Olympic National Park was created. Of the three built at the time, it's the only one still standing, and it stands among massive old growth trees. On this morning, a bit of nearby wildfire smoke added some interesting color and glow to the light.
