While my friend was making his way through dense fog engulfing the road, I was leaning out of the window just waiting for the perfect stretch of color and more than 10 feet of visibility. The perfect pocket was coming and as I framed up the curve in my viewfinder an A.T. thru hiker unexpectedly popped into the lower third. I snapped this picture within a split second of noticing, then put the camera down and watched them quickly fade away into the fog.
