Sunset, overlooking the Green River and the Soda Springs Basin from the Green River Overlook is a truly magnificent experience, with the canyon of the Green River in the distance framed by the mesas of the Island in the Sky on the left, and the distant canyons of the Maze section of the park past Ekker Butte in the center distance. This view also helps to explain why this section of the park has received its name.
