As thunder was rolling in the distance, I was hiking out of the cypress forest in the wildlife refuge. Then I heard the hooting, "Who cooks for you?" and spotted this beautiful Barred Owl not far from the boardwalk. Unfortunately it's deemed not safe to stay in a forest while lightening was pending. I snapped this shot and ran out of the forest.
