Hiking in early summer and this trail was posted for bear so we were on the lookout! As we were departing Cracker Lake we rounded a bend in the trail into an area with tall brush and there she was - momma grizzly with 2 cubs... we moved the required distance away and i was able to snap about 20 photos of her and while i was doing that four rangers met us on the trail and closed the trail for over a month to let her and her cubs roam the area and feast! All were so healthy - what a great place to raise your young - in paradise!
