While we knew Death Valley had a history of aviation with nearby Rainbow/Star Wars Canyon, we didn't expect to encounter any while hiking out to Panamint Dunes. A couple of F-35's did a few practice runs over the dunes and around some of the rock formations, which added some excitement to a long hike.
