Death Valley has always been a dram destination for me and my camera. When I finally arrived at Death Valley, I never felt more alive. The desert is a landscape that fascinates me. Watching life survive or even thrive in the harshest of conditions. The Mesquite Sand Dunes were my most desired spot to take my camera but the stillness and peace this image emits wasn’t the reality of the conditions I was met with. Trudging through the sand with my heavy camera backpack was no easy feat. After I began my journey inward to find pristine sand, I was met with increasing winds and the reality that I probably wouldn’t have the luxury to switch my lens. Grains of sand were whipping into my face as I exerted all my strength in hope of coming across a landscape that spoke to me. Fatigued and working to keep my camera gear safe and racing against the setting sun, I was able to capture some beautiful images of this divine landscape.
