My wife and I were hiking to Eightmile Lake when I saw something running towards the trail. I thought it was a squirrel with a pine cone in its mouth, but something seemed a little off. As it got closer I realized it was a pine marten with a chipmunk in its mouth. It was our first time ever seeing one and luckily it stopped on a rock long enough for me to snap a few pictures before running off into the grass.
