Croatan National Forest

I was camping at Catfish Lake in the Croatan National Forest to try and get a picture like I took a year before, but when I got up in the night to try and photograph the milky way I discovered the smoke I saw before sunset was form a forest fire that had grown and traveled from one side of the lake to the other over the night. I snapped this photo around 5am of the Croatan Great Lake Fire. To the upper left you can see some stars where the smoke was not obscuring them.
