The bombardment of Confederate-held Fort Pulaski ended quickly. Bricks were no match for the Union army's rifled artillery, which was being tested for its effectiveness. The walls of the fort clearly show the damage. This fort just minutes outside Savannah, Georgia is a wonderful family outing with its cannons, quarters for the soldiers and fascinating commentary by Rangers.
